The International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe) was established in Kenya in 1970. icipe is the only independent international institute working primarily on arthropods. icipe’s mandate, while unique, also introduces challenges, given that icipeworks across the four health themes: Human Health, Animal Health, Plant Health, and Environmental Health. 

icipe intends to publish the following corporate flagship products: (i) Spotlight – Stories of Transformation and Resilience, a magazine style, narrative, people and impact focused report; and (ii) a series of legacy notes, which are aimed at documenting the journey, impact and transformation achieved by icipe and various partners.

Based on the scale, quality, standards and urgency of these products, icipe is seeking the support of an experienced communication consultancy firm to support research, synthesizing of content, writing and design. Please find more details in the attached Terms of Reference (TOR) here: LINK

Interested Firms MUST have/provide the following (Technical Proposal):

A short but inclusive company profile which includes an organization chart.

Provide copies of: Certificate of statutory registration, PIN and valid Tax Compliance Certificate, and valid Single Business Permit or equivalent.

A cover letter on the firm’s letter head signed by authorized representative, including contact details and the firm’s physical, postal, e-mail and web address.

Have at least five (5) years’ experience in large-scale editorial project management, from concept development, research, writing, editing, design and production.

Provide at least three (3) references from reputable organisations whom the firm has provided services of similar nature as sought by icipe. They will be contacted.

Financial proposal: Provide a competitive fees quote (US$) to perform the assignment, with a clear breakdown of each cost and any chargeable taxes.

Completed proposals (both Technical & Financial) must be submitted electronically through e-mail at icipetenders@icipe.org in two separate attachments labelled appropriately. The e-mail subject should be clearly marked: ‘Invitation of Bids – Consultancy Firm to provide Corporate Communication products to icipe’. The submission should reach icipe on or before 21^st April 2026 at 11:00 hours East Africa Time.  Late submissions will be rejected.

General Information and Notice:

Any information provided by the bidding party will form the basis of any contract that may be entered into between icipe and the bidder.

icipe shall not be liable for or be required to pay any costs, expenses or losses that may be incurred by the bidding party in the preparation of their Bid.
